We White People

New York, NY – March 13, 2011 – We White People by Martha Glinski available on Amazon.com’s Kindle edition and BarnesandNobles.com.

For Immediate Release | Contact: Hana Glinski | hanaassociatespr@gmail.com

Known by art communities and collectors around the world for her captivating oil paintings, artist and humanitarian, Martha Glinski, adds to her works-to-date debut book, We White People, a spellbinding address to the perpetrators of the insidious tradition of racism, which continues to plague our global community – and more specifically – the psyche of the American, White racist.

“Racism has been a taboo topic, making clear the absurdity of calling upon society’s current Black cultural critics to answer for Our errors, when this is Our responsibility. The hazy confusion on a national level that believes that all of the problems We spawn by our refusal to personalize the struggle, demonstrates how disconnected We really are to any semblance of maturity when it comes to this specific arena. This keeps Us in the safe position of spectator, (Oprah’s sympathetic ‘good’ audience) tsk-tsking, and shaking Our heads at those ‘nasty racists.’ All the while, the mirror stands before Us, as all around Us, mounting evidence of Our actions, of Our neglect, is there to behold,” said Glinski.

WWP [developed in 2007 until Glinski’s death in 2010] chronicle’s the author’s firsthand accounts of racism at the hands of her White neighbors, and was loosely based around the presidential election campaign of Barack Obama [2008].

Glinski, unabashedly indiscreet about the self-destruction of the White racist, recited a popular quote: “’Racism will never be cured in MY lifetime!’ When uttered by a White person, it doesn’t seem so much to be said in despair, but as a matter of fact, and a shrug. This means that whoever uttered it hasn’t much intention to make improvements in him or herself, in order to end racism.”

WWP is 192 pages at $10.95 and available at:

The fact that We appear to be in charge this time around only means that we have the heaviest responsibility for having it this way; we are in charge because we have been ruthless, not because we are virtuous, better, or in any way superior to those we have merely outnumbered, or out maneuvered, unethically.  – Martha Glinski

The National Black Theater of Harlem hosts Street Dreams Concert
(New York-NY) April 9, 2010 – Street Mos Entertainment in conjunction with Joe Black, Black Card Promotions, Build & Expand Entertainment will bring the Street Dreams Concert to the National Black Theatre of Harlem on April 24th, 2010.

Feature appearances include Sheek Louch of D Block, DJ Thoro of Shady 45 and G-Unit Radio, M. Reck of Guttamuzic/Forbezdvd.com, Big Skeem, Trilogy, Sinsay, Spud Brooklyn, Catalyst, Twan da Dude – and many more are poised to grace this red carpet gathering at 8pm. The event will be streaming live at streetsd.com with host, First Lady Godiva.

The mission of Street Mos is the same as its always been: “We support artists, who are sincere about growing their careers, and Street Mos is sincere about growing the hip-hop lifestyle,” says Nat Nelson, C.E.O. of Streets Mos Entertainment.

Streets Mos Magazine [subsidiary of SM Ent.] has been quiet over the past year, but their silence ends on April 24th. Nelson says of the hiatus, “We have been planning our next move. We continue to be an entertainment magnet, and we keep the brand strong by fostering our partnerships throughout the country.”

As with any publication, Streets Mos Magazine remains to be a work in progress.  While the Internet continues to change the print world forever, Nelson is holding firm to his belief in the power that his nationally-distributed publication can bring to artists and hip-hop as a whole. He refuses to fold like many of his magazine’s predecessors, e.g. Scratch and KING. However, Nelson has given his brand a web presence with Streetsmosdigital.com and says, “The industry is changing and it’s important for anyone, who wants to keep up with the industry to evolve with the changes.”

Street Mos – born in Harlem – returns to Harlem, annually, to showcase the hottest talent in the streets and provide opportunities for artist exposure.  Their showcases have catapulted many notables to the forefront: Maino, Nicki Minaj, French Montana and Lexx911 are a few examples of artists, who got their first looks from Street Mos. Their showcases will continue to break new talent.

Nelson says, “Just know, we in the streets, the most.”

Undaground Vet

There are two types of people in this world:  Those who ride the bus and those who drive the bus. With regard to music, the two main forces behind the success or failure of an album, are artist and producer.

Having worked collaboratively with music innovators and trendsetters for over a decade, Baby Paul (a.k.a. BpZy) isn’t just producing: He’s co-creating the standard, born of which, are the dreams and plans people make for the future. Though many of us recognize the artist, how many of us recognize the person who laid the beat that we nod our heads to?

For some artists, the completion of an album is the end of the road for them until their next project releases, but a producer’s work is never done. The wheels stay turning for this industry giant, who’s recent “Undaground Veteran 1.5″ mixtape garnered over 100,000 downloads at coast2coastmixtapes.com. Ever inventive and reflective, BpZy is the quiet, yet solid foundation on which these classic hits sit.

The mixtape is a compilation of songs released between 2005-2010, along with some surprise tracks that haven’t seen the light of day ’til now.  It features Beat Fanatik, Nas, AZ, Heltah Skeltah, Black Moon, Fat Joe, Big Pun, Smif-N-Wessun, MOP, Buckshot, Fab 5, Naughty By Nature, Pharoahoe Monch, John Legend, Consequence, Amil, Mikey Bloodshot, illite, Fat Kid Dodgeball, Kanye West, Remy Ma, NoVa and more!
