Over the past 24 hours, Baltimore residents took to looting in direct response to the funeral of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, who succumbed to severe spinal injuries perpetrated by police. Rioters have also burned down buildings and dismantled police cars, in a show of disdain for another incidence of police brutality committed on a black man by police.

Although the frustration of the Baltimore residents is understood, reps from the hip-hop community are asking residents to find an alternate way to resolve their frustrations. Russell Simmons, Meek Mill and Waka Flocka among others, have stepped forward to ask Baltimore locals to protest by peaceful means.
