Lil Wayne is plotting a comeback for three-quarters of New Orleans super group, the Hot Boys, along with legendary Cash Money Records producer Mannie Fresh, who will bless the stage for the first time in more than 10 years this summer.
The occasion marks Lil Weezyana Fest, slated for Aug. 28 at Champions Square. Wayne made the announcement during his on-air interview with Q93.3FM’s DJ Wild Wayne, Tuesday afternoon (July 7).
“I’m coming home to give my city a real show for all its support. I’m bringing some of my good friends in the industry with me.”
Wayne, Juvenile, Turk, Mannie Fresh – (fourth member) B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2012 – will all spit classic hits like “I Need A Hot Girl” and “We on Fire.” Additional artists will be added to the bill with the Hot Boys.
Wayne expressed high hopes to make the hometown fest an annual event, and will donate a portion of ticket sales to the city.
“Please come out, enjoy yourself and lose your mind,” Lil Wayne said. “I will find it for you later, and give it back.”
