Since the untimely demise of Tupac Shakur in 1996, the rumor-mill has occasionally entertained various theories that Tupac lives and is in hiding. Now, to reinforce the popular theory that the Cali rapper is in fact alive, a retired police officer has come forward alleging to have helped the “Juice” actor fake his death on his deathbed.
According to The Mirror, retired cop David Meyers claims to have accepted a bribe of $1.5 million for his part in allegedly covering up Tupac’s death.
Meyers confessed: “The world needs to know what I did. I’m ashamed that I let a price be put on my word and I cannot die without letting the world know.”
According to Meyers there were more than 30 other people involved in the scheme, including former Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight. Meyers also claimed that Pac paid $50,000 for an impersonator to go to the morgue in his place.
The story remains to be just a story for now, but the fans, conspiracy theorists, and those who claim to have spotted Pac over the years, surely appreciate this one.
